Armoured thermal resistance is used to measure the temperature of a material by the characteristic that its resistance also changes when the temperature changes. When the resistance value changes, the working surface will show the resistance value corresponding to the temperature value.

Armored thermal resistance device and application:


The thermal resistance should prevent the device from being near the furnace or from being too close to the heating body. The device should be installed as far as possible in a place where there is no sensation or a small sensation, and it should be convenient for construction and maintenance. The device position should be as vertical as possible, but the device must be tilted in case of flow rate. The outlet of the junction box should be downward.


Thermal resistance should be connected according to rules, generally choose three wire system. The connecting wire should be insulated (open screen) copper wire, whose cross-sectional area should be ≥1.0 square mm, and the resistance value of the wire should be registered according to the rules showing the appearance.


The thermal inertia causes the thermal resistance to change and lags the temperature change. In order to eliminate the error caused by the thermal resistance, the outer diameter of the thermal resistance protection tube should be reduced as much as possible, and the insertion depth of the thermal resistance should be appropriately added so that the hot part of the thermal resistance can be added.


To often check the condition of the protection tube, found oxidation or deformation should immediately adopt measures, to regularly check.
